Charles "Chuck" Voxland, age 77, died on Saturday, March 16, 2024. He was born on May 18, 1946 in Faribault, MN to Walter and Leona (Ramstad) Voxland. Chuck grew up on his parent's farm and graduated from Kenyon High School in 1964. Following graduation, he attended the University of Minnesota, Duluth. There he played college football and joined AFROTC, entering the Air Force in 1968. Chuck served for 25 years in the Air Force, attaining the rank of Colonel. He was a pilot flying the F-100 during Vietnam, and then trained foreign students how to fly. In 1975 he was accepted into the famous U-2 program. He flew and budgeted for the U-2 program in the Pentagon for many years. He retired from the Air Force in 1993. Following his service, he and his wife Darlene purchased K-Town Video in Kenyon. During 2007 they moved to their lake home in Marcell, MN. Darlene passed away in July 2021, and is survived by her daughter Nicole "Nikki" Curry, who is with a disability. Chuck looked after her for the rest of his life.
Chuck is survived by daughter Beth (Erik) Kent of Belle Mead, NJ and son Scott (Kimberly) Voxland of Amelia, VA with granddaughters Ellie Kent, Zoe Kent and Logan Voxland, and grandson lan Kent. He is also survived by sister JoAnn Lancaster (Arlen Fordahl) of Austin, MN along with many nieces and nephews.
Chuck was preceded in death by his brother, George Voxland and Wally Voxland; brother-in-law Vance Lancaster; sister-in-law Connie Voxland; nephew, Brian Lancaster.
Funeral will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Holden Lutheran Church in Kenyon, visitation at 10AM and service at 11AM, with Pastor Dustin Haider officiating. Interment will be in Holden Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Holden Lutheran Church.
