Charlotte Jean (Capen) Boynton , 85, of Phoenix, passed away Thursday July 7, 2011 very peacefully with Rodney by her side. Charlotte Jean (Capen) Boynton was born December 1, 1925 in Gilman, Illinois to Beulah and Ernest Capen. Four years later, her father, Ernest, was killed in an airplane crash in a plane of his own design. She attended Austin High School in Chicago until her Mother remarried Einer Christensen and settled in Geneva, Minnesota. It was in 1944 she met Rodney and were married July 30. The marriage was just a few days short of 67 years together. They farmed on the Boynton farm for 28 years. During this time 14 blessings were born, 7 boys in a row followed by 7 girls in a row. The highlights of her life were oil painting experience. She won the Steele County Grand Championship and displayed at the State Fair. Her other major was a portrait of James R. Gute, who at the time, was the very successful County Agent. She was devoted to a life of motherhood climaxed with 5 years of Dialysis pneumonia and other associated health problems. She is survived by her husband Rodney of Phoenix; sons daughters Craig (and Simona) Boynton in Italy; Douglas (and Mary) Boynton of Phoenix; Byron Boynton of Phoenix; Lynn (and Rosie) Boynton of Mantorville; Leslie Boynton of Phoenix; Tim Boynton of Phoenix; Cindy (and Gary) Fisher Waseca; Becky (and Dan) Pries of Byron; Wendy (and Michael) Samperi of Portland; Sari Boynton of Phoenix; Erin (and Jerry) Rotenberger of Phoenix. Also 31 grandchildren and 19 great-grand children, many nieces and nephews and special friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by son, Randy at age 2 from tractor accident, daughter, Jennifer, still birth; brother, Merle and mother Beulah, father Ernest and step-father Einer and brother-in-law Spencer Boynton. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna on Friday 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and also one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at Michaelson Funeral Home on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 10:30AM with Reverend Todd Lundgren officiating. Burial will be held in the family lot at Union Cemetery in Medford, Minnesota. Memorials are preferred to the Medford Congregational Church, Medford Minnesota.
