Obituary

Christine Chris Denise Johnson, 60, of Rochester, died Thursday, June 28, 2018 at her home. She was born July 27, 1957 in Austin, Minnesota the daughter of Richard and Norma (Guy) Holton. She grew up in Austin where she attended school, graduating with the Class of 1975. She continued her education at Riverland Technical College in Austin. She worked at Hy-Vee in Austin while attending school. After her college, she began her career at Mayo Clinic in Rochester where she worked for over 30 years. She married Cary Johnson and the couple made their home in Stewartville where they raised their two children. She later married Walt Unger and they lived in Kasson. Chris loved fishing at the lake with her father, walking her dogs, spending time with her children and granddaughter and loved her pets, both cats and dogs. She is survived by her children, Brandon Johnson of Mantorville and Nicole (Corey House) Johnson of Rochester; beloved granddaughter, Aspen; mother, Norma Holton of Owatonna; siblings, Cindy (Mark) McKittrick of Milan, IL, Rick (Cindy) Holton of Owensboro, KY and Traci Langstaff of Owatonna; special friend, Keith Thomforde; uncles and aunts; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews and her beloved animals. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Holton and her paternal and maternal grandparents. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna on Monday, July 2nd from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A time of sharing will be held at 5:30 PM Monday at the funeral home.
