Christopher Gary Utoft, 49, of Owatonna, died Sunday, February 23, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 16, 1970 in St. Paul the son of Gary and Janice (Lundgren) Utoft. Chris graduated from Owatonna High School in 1988. He received his welding degree from Faribault Vo-Tech. Chris was an Iron Worker with the Local 512 working at various places including Excel Energy, Chart Industries, Lysne Construction at Hormel, Daikin and Cybex. On November 23, 2016 he married Staci Smith in Owatonna. Chris was a member of the 20 rifle and pistol club and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed bow hunting, turkey hunting, boating and kayaking. He was an avid fisherman that loved catching largemouth bass. He is survived by his wife, Staci Utoft of Owatonna; children, Dillin Schultz, Bowen Schultz, Harrison Utoft, Natalie Utoft, Torrin Smith; grandchildren, Peyton Kay Schultz, Andi Lyn Schultz; brothers, Jeffrey (and Jenny) Utoft of Anoka, Timothy Utoft of Burnsville; niece, Cecelia Utoft; nephew, Callen Utoft; sister-in-law, Kelli Ringhofer; father and mother in law, Donald and Jackie Ringhofer. Chris was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday from 4pm to 7pm and at St. John Lutheran Church on Friday from 10am to 11am. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 28, 2020 at 11am at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.
