Christy R. Pitan, 60, of Owatonna, died Monday, June 25, 2012 at Methodist Hospital. Christy was born September 16, 1951 in Owatonna, Minnesota the daughter of Walter and Christine (Hanson) Pitan. She was raised in Medford and there she graduated from high school. Christy then worked for Bell Telephone in Owatonna before moving to Texas where she was employed as a receptionist for 3M. Christy moved back to Owatonna to help care for her mother. While living in Owatonna, Christy worked for Gandy''s, Mustang and later for General Equipment. She is survived by her brother, Roger (and Carol) Pitan of Medford; a nephew, Adam (and Brenda) Pitan of Pequot Lakes; nieces, Amy (and Aaron) Larson of Owatonna; Denise (and Kevin) Stark of Flower Mound, TX; and Colette (and Konner) Everhard of Katy, TX. Christy was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Candy Pitan, Bonnie Theder and a nephew Darin Pitan. Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Oak Hill Cemetery, Clinton Falls with Intern Pastor Gena Koeberl officiating. Arrangements by Michaelson Funeral Home.
