Claire V. Todahl, 92, of Owatonna, died Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Benedictine Living Community in Owatonna.
She was born March 16, 1929, in Fargo, ND the daughter of Samuel and Esther (Danielson) Clemenson. On July 13, 1946, she married Arlyn O. Todahl. They lived in Fargo, St. Paul and Bakersfield, CA and made their home in Owatonna. Claire was a homemaker and took care of her six children. She also worked at Truth, the Owatonna Canning Company and cleaned homes for her family and friends. Claire took great pride in caring for others especially her grandchildren and neighborhood kids throughout the years. She enjoyed cooking and baking, making sure everything was well done. Claire had a great sense of humor and quick wit. In her younger years, she enjoyed watching softball which led her to her passion for baseball especially the MN Twins. Claire was very talented in crocheting and embroidery which she received several ribbons for at the Steele County Free Fair. She was a lifetime member of the Owatonna VFW Auxiliary where she volunteered for many events.
Claire is survived by her children, Gerald (Vicki) Todahl of Des Moines, IA, Jean (Stephen) Chadwick of Owatonna, James Todahl of Ridgeland, WI, Jon Todahl of Ridgeland and Janita (Brian) Paulson of Medford; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Armistead of Weslaco, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlyn Todahl who died on March 4, 1993; son, Jay Todahl; siblings, Evelyn Pederson, Marion Ulness, Shirley Fugere and Alerd Clemenson.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday, April 9, 2021, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, April 9, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home with Pastor Jacie Richmond officiating. Interment will be in the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Memorials are preferred to the Children's Miracle Network.
The Family would like to convey a special appreciation for the staff at Benedictine Living Community who cared for Claire at the end of life and to her family at Birchwood Cottages North Building who have loved and cared for her over the last few years (Especially the COVID Year).
