Obituary

Clara L. Clark, 74, of Medford, died Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Homestead Hospice House surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 25, 1936 in Cherry Grove Twsp. Goodhue County, Minnesota the daughter of Chester and Clara (Hillesland) Overboe. Clara graduated from Wanamingo High School in 1954, and started working at Jostens in Owatonna, and later was a secretary at Rochester Dairy in Rochester. She married Jerry Clark in 1961 at Dale Lutheran church in rural Kenyon, and the couple farmed for a few years outside of Kenyon before moving to Owatonna for a short time and then moving to Medford in 1965. Clara was a member of the United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school, and was involved with other church activities. Clara and Jerry were foster parents for many years. Family, children, and grandchildren, were a very important part of Clara's life, she also enjoyed baking, cooking, and entertaining. She is survived by her husband Jerry Clark of Medford, daughters, Julie (and Jerry) Moen of Faribault, Cheryl Loken of Medford, grandchildren Jesse Moen, Ashley Loken, Joshua Moen, and Heather Loken. She is also survived by two sisters Elaine (Marv) Anderson of Rochester, and Martha (Larry) Gochnauer of West Concord, sister in law Avis Overboe of Pine Island, and brother in law Luverne Smith of Tucson, AZ, and many nieces and nephews. Her parents brother Chester Overboe, sister June Smith, and nephew Jeffrey Gochnauer preceded her in death Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-7 PM and at United Methodist Church on Thursday from 10-11 AM. Funeral services will be held Thursday August 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM at United Methodist Church with Reverend Loren Olson officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to the United Methodist Church or Homestead Hospice House.
