Obituary

Clarence Albert Neigebauer, 83, of Meriden Township, Steele County, MN died Monday, March 19, 2012 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Minneapolis. He was born June 29, 1928 in Owatonna, Minnesota, the son of William and Kathryn (Hofer) Neigebauer. He graduated from Owatonna High School. He entered the United States Army where he served in Germany during the Korean War until his honorable discharge. He married Diane Zeller on August 29, 1955 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rochester, MN. They made their home in Meriden Township where they farmed. Clarence also delivered vehicles throughout the states for Owatonna, Mankato, and St. Peter Ford Dealerships, providing transportation for retirees living down south for over 30 years. Clarence loved the casino, collected salt and pepper shakers, collected stamps and enjoyed traveling. He also enjoyed sharing stories at morning coffee in Waseca and lunch in Owatonna. He is survived by his five children, Peter (Linda) Neigebauer of Courtland, Paul (Jane) Neigebauer of Waseca, Debra (David) Hamer of Claremont, Susan (Steven) Elliott of Prior Lake, and John Neigebauer of North Mankato; his significant other, Genevieve Freeberg; 12 grandchildren, Kathryn (David) Vasquez, Kristen and Kelsey Neigebauer, Abby, Ellie, and Hannah, Neigebauer, Eric Hamer, Tony (Natalie) Hamer, and Brad Hamer, Nicole (Mathew) Joachim, Corey (Alyssa) Elliott, Kellie Elliott (James Macey); four great grandchildren, Lucas, Andres, and Tomas Vasquez, and Emma Macey; three brothers, Robert (Theresa) Neigebauer of Waseca, Walter Neigebauer of Guyman, OK, and Daryl (Janice) Neigebauer of Owatonna; two sisters, Norma Bonnie-Baffoe of Waseca and Rita (Eugene) Eisterhold of Little Fork; nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Diane (2009), sister, Florence Schroeder, and granddaughter, Lisa Marie Neigebauer. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday, March 23, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A prayer service will be held 4:00 PM Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Edward McGrath officiating. A time of food and fellowship will follow the visitation at 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Cemetery with The Reverend John Sauer officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Steele County Military Funeral Unit. Visitation: 03/23/2012 16:00 03/23/2012 19:00 Service: A prayer service will be held 4:00 Friday at the funeral home.
