Clarence R.W. Schwartz, 79, of Owatonna formerly of Weseca, died Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at the Owatonna Hospital. He was born June 1, 1930 in Morristown Township, Minnesota the son of Albert and Edna (Velzke) Schwartz. Clarence attended country school, and started farming with his father at a young age. He married Norma Kolander June 10, 1955 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church German Lake, Waterville. After marriage the couple farmed together until moving into Waseca in 1984, while living in Waseca they were members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and Clarence worked for Waseca Public Schools, and the City of Waseca. Clarence and Norma moved to Owatonna in 2005, and became members at Redeemer Lutheran. Clarence enjoyed spending time with his four granddaughters, hunting, and fishing. He is survived by his wife Norma Schwartz of Owatonna, children, Darlene (and Emmett) Miller of Janesville, Melody Schwartz of Owatonna, Dale Schwartz of Toledo, OH, four granddaughters Heather (Daniel) Franck, Dr. Amber Miller, Claire Schwartz, and Isabelle Schwartz. He is also survived by his brother, Gordon (and Berniece) Schwartz of Faribault, and sister in law Darlene Schwartz of Waterville. His parents, one brother Norman Schwartz, and a sister Delores Schwartz preceded Clarence in death. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Saturday from 9-10 AM. Funeral service will be held Saturday February 20, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church (1054 Truman Ave. SE Owatonna) with The Reverend Kirk Griebel officiating. Interment will be in the Concordia Cemetery in Morristown Township.
