A Celebration of Life in honor of Clifford and Jeannette Sellner will be held at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 beginning at 12:00 noon. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service for Jeanette at 11:00am on Tuesday at Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna. Clifford J. Sellner was born on September 24, 1926 in Steele County. He died on July 3, 2017 at the age of 90. A graveside service with military honors by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit was held last year on July 5, 2017 at Owatonna Memorial Gardens. He grew up in Steele County where he spent all of his life. Jeannette S. (Nelson) Sellner was born July 13, 1930 in Shevlin, Minnesota, near Bemidji, where she grew up and attended school. The couple met in Bemidji and were married on September 24, 1949 in Pinewood, Minnesota. They made there home in Owatonna, moved to Phoenix for a short time and returned to Owatonna where they raised their two children, Dale and Diane. Clifford worked in construction all of his life. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the V.F.W. and the American Legion all in Owatonna. Jeanette was a homemaker. She enjoyed crafts, volunteered at the Pink Pantry, taught Sunday School and was a Girl Scout leader. The couple is survived by their children, Dale (Kathy) Sellner of Owatonna and Diane Sellner of Rochester; grandchildren, Darrick (Victoria Sellner, Tarah (Brandon) McBeain and Andrea Sellner; Cliff's brother Harvey (Judy) Sellner of Owatonna and Jeanette's brother, Don (Joyce) Nelson of Bemidji. They were preceded in death by their parents, Walter and Agnes (Johnson) Sellner and Sewell and Augusta (Schachtschneider) Nelson and their other siblings.
