Clifford B. Yule, 84, of Owatonna passed away peacefully at Cedarview Nursing Home on November 3, 2009. He was the son of Alfred and Alice Yule. Clifford was born in Merton Township on November 2nd, where he grew up and attended country school. He graduated from Owatonna High School in 1943. Cliff served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1947. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Owatonna. He was office manager at the Agriculture and Stabilization Conservation Service. Clifford's active civic life included director of Civil Defense in Owatonna from 1965 to 1976, past Vice Commander of the American Legion, a life member of the VFW, a life member of the Elk's Club, a member of the Masons, and was a past president of the Rural Fire Department. Cliff also placed flags on Veterans graves for every Memorial Day, at three cemeteries, for 57 years. Cliff enjoyed farming all his life. He also enjoyed occasional hunting, fishing, and his many lifelong friends. He married Lois Sorenson in February of 1976. She survives. A brother, Wayne (Si) (Catherine) Yule, survives, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and a sister in infancy. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, 1930 Austin Road, on Friday November 6th from 4 to 7 pm, and one hour prior to the service at the church. The funeral service will be at the First Baptist Church on Saturday, November 7th at 2:30 pm., with Reverend Cindy Halvorson officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorials suggested to First Baptist Church or charity of a donor's choice. Cliff will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
