Coletta Fay Flom, 80, of Kenyon, died Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna.
She was born August 11, 1940 in Naper, Nebraska the daughter of Edwin and Frieda (Hermann) Nicolaus. The family moved to Minnesota where she was raised and graduated from Alexandria High School. Coletta married Kermit Flom in 1962 and they eventually moved to Kenyon in 1969. Coletta was an artist, art teacher and seamstress.
She loved restoring 19th century dresses, collecting antiques and glassware and restoring antiques as well. She was very involved with the Gunderson House, the Art Council and events in Kenyon such as the Sleigh and Cutter Parade. She made many costumes for theatrical productions in Kenyon and later at Shattuck in Faribault. Coletta was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church. She loved watching the Minnesota Twins.
She is survived by sons, Ed (and Karen Poppa) Flom of Maplewood, Jim (and Kathleen) Flom of Hudson, WI; grandchildren, Sharon Flom, Jack Flom; brother, Robert (and Valerie) Nicolaus.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Flom; brother, Verlin Nicolaus.
Private family services will be held with Pastor Julie Rogness officiating. Interment will be in the Kenyon Cemetery.
