Colleen Vermilyea, 56, of West Concord, died Tuesday morning at the Fairview Care Center, in Dodge Center. Colleen was born May 29, 1957 in New Prague, Minnesota the daughter of Edwin and Irene (Svoboda) Puncochar. She attended school in New Prague and was united in marriage to Dean Vermilyea. The couple made their home in West Concord where Colleen worked as a personal banker at Farmer''s State Bank. Dean died May 2, 2010. She continued making her home in West Concord. Colleen became engaged to Corky Buckingham in October of 2011. She and Dean were able to take a cruise and travel to the Bahamas, St Lucia, St. Thomas and Jamaica. They also enjoyed going to Las Vegas and traveled to many states throughout the U.S. Most important to her was the time she was able to spend with her children and grandchildren. Colleen loved spending time with them around the campfire, cooking on the grill and camping. She was an avid gardener and also liked to go dancing. Sometimes Colleen would just embrace the quiet moments listening to music. After sharing 36 wonderful years of marriage with Dean, Colleen was happy to have found someone in Corky to love again, provide companionship and who she enjoyed doing things with. She was able to live again. She is survived by a daughter Gwen (and Jason) Boe of Dodge Center; Brandon (and Amanda) Vermilyea of Dodge Center; seven grandchildren Madison, Parker and Jozey Boe and Cami, Cooper, Casey and Colby Vermilyea; her mother, Irene Puncochar of New Prague; a brother Ron (and Gwen) Puncochar of Luck, WI; a sister Carol Toven of Aitkin; father in law Everett Vermilyea of Dexter; brothers-in-law Ken (and Elaine) Vermilyea of Blooming Prairie; Ron (and Kaloha) Vermilyea of Bull Shoals, AR; Dan (and Joyce) Vermilyea of Austin; sister in law, Cathy (and Dave) Braaten of Dexter; fianc Corky Buckingham of West Concord; his children who included Colleen in all their activities and treated her like a member of their family, Toni (and Rowan) McDonnell of Sartell; Teri (and Jon) Streiff of West Concord; Traci (and Luke) Payette of Chicago, IL; Jim Buckingham of Dallas, TX; Joe Buckingham of St. Cloud; Alex Buckingham of West Concord and Matt Buckingham of West Concord. She was preceded in death by her husband Dean Vermilyea; a daughter Kim Vermilyea; her father Edwin Puncochar; and her mother-in-law Ann Vermilyea. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord on Thursday June 6, 2013 from 4-7 PM and Friday at the funeral home from 9:00- 9:45 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday June 7, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Gregory Parrott officiating. Interment will be next to her husband Dean in the St. Vincent dePaul Cemetery in West Concord.
