Obituary

Conrad Miller, age 79 passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 18th after a very brave battle with cancer.  Conrad and Denise celebrated 48 years of marriage and have resided in the Aitkin, MN area for many years. Prior to this they lived in Owatonna where they raised their four children, Darin, Dawn, Paul and Kathy.

Conrad served honorably in the army in the Vietnam War. He was a successful businessman who took what he learned growing up on the farm and at Chrysler Garage and had the determination and confidence to take the risk and start his own business.  From the small garage behind their house on Cedar Street with walls that you could see through to his first big shop on E. Main Street and finally expanded to RiverPlace Auto Center that he ran until he retired and sold the business in 2006. Many employees and their families relied on his business and he always took that responsibility very seriously.  He built his reputation and dedicated customers the old fashioned way - by doing consistently reliable work for a fair price.  Conrad was passionate about repairing and painting vehicles through much of his life. Throughout his life, his garage door was always open to help people fix more than just cars and was his life's work and passion.

Conrad's service continued beyond serving in the Vietnam War including volunteering for over 20 years supporting and transporting Veterans needing assistance getting to needed healthcare appointments. His desire to be helpful in the community also included being a school bus driver in Aitkin as well as a driver for Rides for Help, a non-profit organization in Aitkin.

He is survived by he loving spouse of 48 years, Denise Miller; children Darin Miller(Lynn), Dawn Roos(Dwight), Paul Paige(Angie) and Kathy Gullo(Gary); grandchildren Jennifer Gajewski(Joey), Stephanie Ihme(Trent), Kim Kasper, Jessica Roos, Jason Roos, Logan Paige(Vanessa), Landen Paige(Megan), Bailey Gullo, Sarah Gullo, Joey Gullo(Alissa); great grandchildren Hazel, Tiana, Mataya, Tayvın, Cayson , Luella, Charlotte, Brayden, Giada and Brielle, sister JoAnne England. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Myrtle Miller and brothers Dale Miller, Dean Miller, Curtis Miller, Gary Miller and George Miller
