Cordelle 'Corky' Collins, 92, of Columbia Heights, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Presbyterian Homes of Arden Hills. Corky was born February 27, 1920 in Owatonna, Minnesota the daughter of Christian and Mary (Semler) Hofer. She was raised near Owatonna and attended a one room country school through the 8th grade. She entered the Women''s Army Corps in February of 1943 and served during WWII. Corky received her honorable discharge in October of 1944. Corky worked for Hormel in Austin for 30 years retiring in 1978. She later moved to Columbia Heights where she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and gardening. She is survived by her sons Roger (and Margaret) Collins of New Brighton; Frank (and Susan) Collins of St. Paul; four grandchildren Amy (and Dan) Mayer; Peter (and Karen) Collins; Erin Collins; Michelle (and Kevin) Zhao; and two great grandchildren Jack Mayer and Max Mayer. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers Fred Hofer; Fay Hofer; Henry Hofer; Everett Hofer; and four sisters Katie Neigebauer; Mary Voigt; Leona Zeiner and Lola Gorman. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday, October 26, 2012 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 26, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with the Reverend Glenn Seefeldt officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna.
