Corlyn 'Cory' Christenson, 60, of Faribault, died Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Homestead Hospice House. She was born April 16, 1948 to her adoring parents Dalmar and Margaret (Davis) Christenson. During her childhood Cory was raised in a loving home and since her parents enjoyed traveling and photography she was able to visit our Country''s National Parks and other points of interest. Soon after her mothers passing Corlyn moved into a group home where she adored her house parents and caregivers. Throughout the years she has been blessed to have caring, compassionate people who generously shared their lives with her on a daily basis and have guided her through all the steps of her life. Cory held a job almost all of her adult life working for Careers Training Center and Rice County Activities center. Her work was a joy to her and the friendships that she made were held dear to her heart. Her hobbies included Latch hooking projects, crafts, remembering actors and singers names and faces along with what movie they were coined for or what song made them famous, watching movies and spending time with those who meant so much to her. She often was quick yet ever gentle to remind us to "Love one another" and "remember The Golden Rule." Cory was happy to be involved in Special Olympics and church choir, both of which reinforced a sense of self-awareness and teamwork as well as new friendships. Cory is survived by step-mother, Susan Christenson of Owatonna; half-sister, Sara (and Kevin) Pirkl of Owatonna; half-brother, Kris (and Yukari) Christenson of Owatonna; nephew Kyle Christenson; niece Julia Christenson; half-sister, Patsy Christenson; half-sister, Darla Nelson and their children.
