Corrine Slezak, 74, of Owatonna, died Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Owatonna Hospital. Corrine was born December 8, 1934 in Owatonna, Minnesota the daughter of Josephine Slezak. Corrine lived her first 12 years with family and then resided in Faribault Regional Treatment Center from 1946 until 1977. In 1977, she moved into Hope Residence in Waterville and worked at Le Sueur County DAC. In 1991, Corrine moved to ELM Homes with three roommates and lived in Waterville until 2007 where she retired from Potential Unlimited. In 2007, Corrine moved back to her hometown of Owatonna, to REM where she enjoyed living with three housemates. Corrine enjoyed shopping, having her hair and nails done and writing letters to friends and those who worked with her. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Corrine was a very special woman and will be missed by all of those who were close to her. Thank you to REM Minnesota for providing such wonderful care to Corrine and for bringing her happiness to her life. She was preceded in death by her mother Josephine Slezak Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 10:30 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna.
