Cynthia L Karsten, 60, of Faribault, died Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Homestead Hospice House.
She was born July 9, 1957 in Hastings the daughter of Robert and Glenys (Stoerzinger) Cook. Cynthia grew up in Farmington and West Concord. She graduated from West Concord High School in 1975. Sept. 27, 1975 she married Christ Karsten at Moland Lutheran Church. The couple has lived near Medford since their marriage. She worked for nearly 30 years at District One Hospital in Faribault as a Registered Nurse. Cindy enjoyed being the night time supervisor, moving throughout different areas of the hospital helping patients and co-workers. She loved any opportunity to help with the newborn babies and was always able to calm them when necessary.
Cindy enjoyed camping, fishing and making Tie Quilts. She loved to sing and was able to sing for several weddings for friends and family. Cindy's family was her life, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren and was married to her best friend..
She is survived by her husband, Christ Karsten of Faribault; children, Jamie Karsten of Albertville, Becky (and Kyle) Lustig of Owatonna, Robert Karsten of Faribault, Missi Mimi Karsten of Faribault; 8 grandchildren, Lyndsey, Naomi, Jacob, Sammy, Sierra, Alexys, Simon, Skyler; sisters, Carolyn (and John) Korba of Lonsdale, Kathy (and Ron ) Meyer of West Concord; brothers, Keith Cook of Kenyon, Craig Cook of West Concord and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one infant sister.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday from 4pm to 8pm and at Blooming Grove United Methodist Church on Friday from 10am to 11am. Funeral services will be held July 28, 2017 at 11am at Blooming Grove United Methodist Church, 43089 180th St., Morristown, MN 55052. Interment will be in the Blooming Grove Church Cemetery.
