Dale C. Christensen, 70, of Owatonna, died Friday, December 15, 2017 at Homestead Hospice House. He was born March 24, 1947 in Owatonna the son of Myrven and Violet (Olsen) Christensen. Dale graduated from Owatonna High School in 1965 and served in the US Air Force from 1965-1969. After his military service, Dale returned to Owatonna where he worked at OMC/Mustang, Slidell and Gopher Sport before retiring in 2009 due to poor health. Dale married Marge Voegele May 28, 1983 in Owatonna. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. Dale enjoyed working on cars, building models and doing crossword puzzles. He is survived by his wife Marge Christensen; daughters, Cathy (and special friend Glen Barber) Meillier, Becky (and special friend Bob Johnson) Meillier both of Owatonna; grandchildren, Alex Barber, Danielle Barber; sister, Sharon (and Donald) Allen of Waseca; mother-in-law, Margaret (and Robert) Lewis of Faribault; sister-in-law, Susan Voegele of Faribault and nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins. Dale was preceded in death by his nephew, Eric Allen and brother-in-law, James Voegele. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday from 4pm to 7pm and on Friday from 10am to 11am. Memorial services will be held Friday, December 22, 2017 at 11am at Michaelson Funeral Home with Rev. Loren Olson officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna with military honors provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit.
