Dale I. Hursh 90, of Owatonna, died Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Clare Bridge Cottage. He was born July 25, 1923 in Hinsdale, Montana the son of Lynn and Rebecca (Riddle) Hursh. Dale graduated high school with the class of 1941 from Anaconda, MT, he then attended and graduated from Butte Business College. He served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1946. Dale was united in marriage to Helen Thorness on July 3, 1947 in Portland, OR, and the couple moved to Anaconda and later Butte, MT. They moved to Owatonna in March of 1957 and he opened Dale's Pontiac, which the next year became Hursh Pontiac Olds, and then Hursh Motors in 1970. In 1991 Dale added the Chevrolet and Cadillac dealerships to his franchise. Dale was a member of the Associated Church, Owatonna Foundation, the Owatonna Country Club, VFW, Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge, and the Owatonna Shrine Club. His wife Helen died in 1998, his son Tom in 1971 and daughter-in-law Sally Hursh in 2007. He is survived by his two sons Jim Hursh and Dennis Hursh,special friend Beth Hammel all of Owatonna, four brothers Wayne (and Fran) Hursh of Waseca, Robert (and Jeanne) Hursh of Choteau, MT, Bill Hursh of Anaconda, MT, and Kenneth Hursh of Wise River, MT, and one sister Lynn Corbett of Gooding, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Frank and Russell and one sister Ernestine. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday October 16, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at The Associated Church on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Thursday October 17, 2013 at 11:00 AM at The Associated Church with Reverend Katherine Gibson-Christensen officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to the Owatonna Foundation or Homestead Hospice House.
