Dale Orrin Oslund, 79, of Owatonna, died Friday, July 7, 2017 at New Richland Care Center. He was born February 24, 1938 in Elburn, Illinois the son of Orrin and Lucille Oslund. Dale started working at a young age. He farmed, worked at a Seed Corn Plant, and was an iron worker and a heavy equipment mechanic in Illinois for several years prior to moving to Minnesota in 1989. After moving to Owatonna he worked for RDO in Burnsville as a mechanic until the injuries he suffered from being hit by a car forced him to retire in 1999. Dale enjoyed sports. He cheered for any Chicago team with a special liking for the Cubs and the Bears. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and bowling. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Donna Oslund of Owatonna; daughters, Deana Oslund of Aurora, IL, Doreen Culver of Owatonna, Debbie Johnson of Owatonna, Darla Oslund of Owatonna; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sister, Shirley (and Martin) Carr of Ottowa, IL and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sons, Dale, Jr., Donald; sisters, Grace, Helen. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4pm to 7pm and on Wednesday from 9am to 10am. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 10am at Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend Loren Olson officiating.
