Dan Ray Eggert, 54, of Hayfield, died peacefully Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital. Dan was born September 23, 1954 in Owatonna, Minnesota the son of August "Augie" and Verna (Fitzgerald) Eggert. He was raised in rural West Concord and attended school in West Concord where he graduated from high school in 1972. Dan then attended Rochester Vocational School where he studied welding. He then worked as supervisor of the metal shop for Foldcraft in Kenyon. He was united in marriage to Judy Lermon on March 6, 1976 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Kasson and made their home near West Concord before moving to Hayfield. Dan worked for Crenlo in Rochester from 1983 until the time of his death. Dan enjoyed many things. He loved the country life and spending his time outdoors. He also enjoyed fishing, deer and pheasant hunting, horseback riding and John Wayne and Clint Eastwood western movies. He had a special love for his family and cherished his time with them. He loved them very much. He is survived by his wife Judy Eggert of Hayfield; a son, Josh (and Nita) Eggert of Kasson; his father, August "Augie" Eggert of West Concord; a brother, Steve (and Cheryll) Eggert of West Concord; three sisters, Shari (and Keith) Brandvold of West Concord; Kathy (and Bill) Krause of Sparta, WI; Lori (and Joe) Lermon of Goodyear, AZ; and three grandchildren, Adryanna, Kylia, and Dylan Eggert. He was preceded in death by his mother Verna Eggert. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord on Friday, September 18, 2009 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, Kasson with The Reverend Harry Mueller officiating.
