Daniel F. Erickson, 47, of Owatonna, Minnesota, died Saturday while ice fishing in Lake of the Woods County in Northern Minnesota. Walleye Dan passed away doing what he loved most, ice fishing at Lake of the Woods. He was born April 21, 1960 in Stillwater, Minnesota the son of Gerald and Arlene (Roepke) Erickson. Dan attended school in Owatonna, and then started working for the Owatonna Canning Company; he was currently employed at Wenger where he has worked for the past nine years. Dan was engaged to be married to Tammy Gasner this coming July. He was a member of ABATE of MN, Straight River Chapter, he enjoyed his Harley especially waxing it and keeping it clean and ice fishing; going to and watching the Twins and Vikings. Many including his daughter Dominque, fiance Tammy Gasner, Tammy''s children Derek and Katie Gasner; sisters Sherrie Dunford and Jodi Erickson, brother Jim Erickson, and parents Jerry and Pat will forever miss Danny. Many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends will also miss Danny. His brother Gerald Jr preceded him in death. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 25, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Reverend Edward McGrath officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Owatonna.
