Daniel S. Severson, age 62, of Owatonna, died on Friday, June 12, 2020, at Birchwood Cottages in Owatonna. He was was born on March 10, 1958, the son of Sylvester and Jeanne (Matejcek) Severson. Dan graduated from Owatonna High School in 1976. In December 1977, he was united in marriage to Jane Dettmer. Together they raised their two children, Molly and Brad. Dan and Jane later divorced but remained friends. He was an avid sports fan. Dan loved cheering on all the Owatonna Indians and later Owatonna Huskies sports teams. He was a very proud Packer fan and enjoyed his trip to Lambeau in 2007 with his son, daughter and son-in-law. Above all, Dan's pride and joy was his family. He was a proud grandpa to Alec, Aidan, Emmy and Finn. Dan is survived by his daughter, Molly (and Shane) Pettis of Owatonna; son Brad (and Meg) Severson of Woodbury; and grandchildren, Alec, Aidan, Emmy, Finn. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and brothers, Marshall and Jody Severson. A Celebration of Dan's Life will be held at a later date.
