Obituary

Darlene Lois Fosness, 83, of Owatonna, died Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Traditions Assisted Living. She was born September 8, 1934 in Albert Lea, Minnesota the daughter of John and Martha (Medlang) Midlang. She grew up on a farm near Lake Mills, Iowa and graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1952. She married Roger Fosness on October 20, 1953, at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills. The couple farmed near Lake Mills until 1958 when they moved to Meriden to farm. When Roger retired from farming in 1985, they continued living on the farm until 2014 when they moved to Countryside in Owatonna. In the fall of 2017 they moved to Traditions Assisted Living in Owatonna. Darlene was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she was active teaching Sunday School and with the women's ministry. Darlene also was a 4H volunteer, teaching sewing to 4H members. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, flower gardening, reading and attending her children's track and cross country events. She is survived by her husband, Roger Fosness of Owatonna; children, James (and Janice) Fosness of Lexington, TX, Faye (and Dale) Anhorn of Red Wing, Carol Fosness of Orlando, FL, Dan (and Elana) Fosness of Lakeville; grandchildren, Shawn Fosness, Andrea McGregor, Brendon Fosness, Jared Anhorn, Kristin Penrod, Elizabeth Lawrence, Kristine Lawrence, Travis Fosness, Sierra Fosness and Kirill Timshyn and five great-grandchildren, Ghulam, Evan, Sydney, John Paul and Kacey. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Martha; son, David Fosness; an infant baby girl; triplet great-grandchildren, Ryan, Colbie and Alexis Anhorn; siblings, Marcelle Anderson, Lorraine Wilson and Virgil Midlang and an infant sister. Visitation will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Church - Meriden Sunday, June 17th from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 17, 2018 at 3:00 PM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church - Meriden with Rev. Richard Hegal officiating. Interment will be in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery - Meriden. Memorials preferred to St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Visitation: 06/17/2018 14:00 06/17/2018 15:00 Service: Meriden. 06/17/2018 15:00
