Obituary

Darold Lyle Gasner, 65, of Medford, died Friday, August 29, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester. He was born January 30, 1943 in Owatonna the son of Lyle and Dorothy (Hruska) Gasner. Darold graduated from Medford High School and then served in the Army Reserves. He married Clarice Karnes February 15, 1964 in Austin. The couple has lived in Medford since their marriage. He worked for Wonder Bread for many years. While working for Wonder Bread he served as a union representative. In 1984 he went to work for Malt-O-Meal in the distribution and transportation departments. He enjoyed stock car racing and loved to work on race cars with his son. Darold spent many hours helping in the "pits" while his son was racing. He also helped friends with their race cars. Darold also enjoyed the outdoors, going camping and hunting. He was a proud grandpa that would take time to play and entertain his grandchildren. Darold is survived by his wife, Clarice Gasner of Medford; mother, Dorothy Gasner of Medford; sons, Frank (and Vickie) Gasner of Kasson, Marlon Gasner of Storm Lake; daughter, Becky (and Steve) Wardyn of Faribault; daughter-in-law, Cathleen Gasner of Medford; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Diane (and Jerry) Strodtman of Medford, Betty Lou (and David) Aase of Owatonna, Lylia (and John) Iverson of Medford, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Lyle; son, Daniel and daughter-in-law, Sheryl. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday, Aug. 31 from 4-7pm and at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Faribault on Monday, Sept. 1 from 9-10am. Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 1, 2008 at 10:00am at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Faribault with Pastor Steve Delzer officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna. Visitation: 08/31/2008 16:00 08/31/2008 19:00 Service: and one hour prior to the service at the church. 09/01/2008 10:00
