Darrel Frank Faulkner, 80, of Mantorville, died as the result of a bicycle/truck accident Wednesday, August 14, 2019, in Mantorville. He was born December 22, 1938 in Mankato, Minnesota the son of Frank and Emmeline (Hench) Faulkner and began childhood in Madelia. At the age of 12, he moved with his family to West Concord where he graduated from high school in 1956. Following his schooling he served in the Army Reserves and farmed with his father. He married Karen Kyllo on April 2, 1960, at Hegre Lutheran Church south of Kenyon. The couple lived on a farm east of West Concord where they raised their family. Along with farming, Darrel drove school bus for West Concord for 36 years, worked part time at the Dodge County FSA office for 35 years, was a Concord Township supervisor for 23 years, served on the Minnesota Soybean Board for 12 years, served on the Dodge County Farm Bureau Board for several years and worked at the Cannon Valley Coop. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in West Concord where he served on the board and the Kasson Lions Club. Darrel loved visiting with people. He also enjoyed camping, riding his bicycle, traveling, eating out, and ice cream nearly every evening. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Karen Faulkner of Mantorville; sons, Jan (and Jeanine) Faulkner of Forest City, IA and Troy (and Traci) Faulkner of Byron, MN; four grandchildren, Brooke Faulkner, Geoffrey Faulkner, Isaac Faulkner and Zach Faulkner and a sister, Charlotte (and Mervin) Roberts of Jacksonville, FL. He was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Emmeline and a sister and brother-in-law, Marion (and Kendall) Roberts. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord Chapel on Sunday from 2:00-5:00 PM and at the United Methodist Church, West Concord on Monday from 9:30-10:30 AM. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 19, 2019 at 10:30 AM at United Methodist Church, West Concord with Pastor Joyce Parker officiating. Interment will be in Concord Cemetery in Concord Township.
