David Lee Bock, 62, of Owatonna, died Monday, July 26, 2010 at Homestead Hospice House. David was born February 9, 1948 in Owatonna the son of Ralph and Margaret (Werdien) Bock. Here he was raised and attended grade school at St. Mary''s and later graduated from Marian High School in 1966. He enlisted in to the United States Air Force in June 1966 and served during Vietnam in Thailand in communications. David was proud of the American Flag and to be able to serve his country. He married Mary Kay Torgerson and raised two sons, Dan and Steve Bock. They later divorced. He then was united in marriage to Patricia (Spatenka) Hansen on July 17, 1992 in Owatonna. Over the years, David worked for Shea Distributing, Schwann''s, Jerome Foods and for Viracon. He retired from Viracon in 2010 after 21 years of service. David enjoyed many things, but he especially enjoyed fishing and working in his yard. He also enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels and always keeping his vehicles clean. David enjoyed Halloween and would dress up every year and greet the children as they came to the house trick or treating. He liked to go camping with his wife to Duluth and the Rocky Mountains, but most of all, David enjoyed being with his children, his grandchildren and his family. He was a member of the American Legion, the Owatonna Eagles, the VFW Post 1642 Waseca and WFLA. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Bock of Owatonna; two sons, Dan (and Michele) Bock of Albert Lea; Steven (and Lisa) Bock of Owatonna; a stepdaughter, Alison (and Steve) Jaster of Medford; a stepson, Bret (and Kari) Hansen of Owatonna; two sisters, Sue (and Ray Jr) Anderson of Owatonna; Judy (and Greg) Horecka of Owatonna; his stepfather, Paul Illg of Owatonna; grandchild, Damon Bock, and step grandchildren, Kira Munguia, Abigail and Oliver Hansen and Ericka and Madison Jaster and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Memorial services will be held Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 10:30 AM at The Associated Church with The Reverend James Oberg officiating. Interment will be in the Bohemian National Cemetery in Owatonna. Military honors will be provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit. Memorials are preferred to Homestead Hospice Patient Care Fund, the Owatonna Foundation or donor''s choice.
