David John "Dave" Ebeling, 71, of Aurora Township, died Friday, April 19, 2019 at his home.
Dave was born May 27, 1947 in Owatonna, the son of Marvin "Bud" and Delores "Dee" (Haberman) Ebeling. He attended and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1965, and attended one year of college before joining the United States Air Force. Dave married Lana Maxfield on June 27, 1969 in Tampico, Illinois. The couple settled in Cannon Falls for 25 years and had two children. They later retired to Aurora Township. Dave was a hard-working man, and was a salesman until retirement. He worked in the wholesale food industry for most of his career. Dave worked for Hormel, Fairway Foods, and was eventually self-employed. He also owned and operated a dry-cleaning/laundromat business in Cannon Falls.
Dave was a family-man and loved his grandkids. He also enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida. His hobbies included golfing, fishing, bird-watching, and watching sports.
He is survived by his wife Lana Ebeling; sons, Aaron (Zella) Ebeling of Aurora Township, Zachary (Jenny) Ebeling of Hastings; 8 grandchildren; brother, Douglas (Pamela) Ebeling of Balsam Lake; and close family friend, Tyler Carlson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 26, 2019 at Michaelson Funeral Home at 11am with visitation from 10-11am. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to the American Diabetes Association or to the Minnesota Lions.
