David W. Lieb, 64, of Lakewood, Colorado died Sunday, September 19, 2010 at the Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He was born August 16, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Reinhold and Bernice (Borchardt) Lieb. They moved to Morristown, Minnesota in 1948. After several years, he moved with his family to Owatonna where he graduated from Owatonna High School in 1964. David then entered the United States Navy where he was stationed in Greece and was honorably discharged after four years of service. He then resided in California for two years and then Denver, Colorado where he worked for the City of Denver Animal Control. David's love for animals was shown through work and home, especially his dogs. He also enjoyed the outdoors and loved to garden, hunt and fish. He is survived by mother, Bernice Lieb of Owatonna; cousins, Bill (and Pearl) Lieb of Annandale; Evelyn Schult of Arizona, Mary (and David) Volrath of Elgin, Illinois; uncle, Clarence (and Phyllis) Borchardt of Faribault. He was preceded in death by his father Reinhold Lieb. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday, October 7, 2010 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM . Funeral services will be held October 7, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend Kirk Griebel officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.
