David L. Mauseth , 69, of Kenyon, died Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna, Minnesota after a short battle with cancer. He was born February 11, 1942 in Owatonna, Minnesota the son of Arnold and Maxine (Brown) Mauseth. He graduated from Owatonna High School where he excelled as a wrestler. He then wrestled for Mankato State and earned his teaching degree. After college he taught two years in Iowa and in 1967 was hired as the Business Education teacher at Kenyon High School. During his tenure he enjoyed successes as a varsity wrestling coach for twenty-six years. He also had the honor of coaching various sports throughout his career along with educating many students. If you mentioned Kenyon wrestling the name David Mauseth was synonymous. He continued to be involved in wrestling throughout the years following his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, watching Gopher hockey, reading, supporting the VFW and Sportsman's Club. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him. We are so proud of how he fought heart disease and cancer. He is survived by his wonderful and supporting wife of forty-two years, Pamela Mauseth of Kenyon; children, Sarah (and Shawn) Shanley of Woodbury, Peter (and Kristine Lubinski) Mauseth of Madison, WI, and Tim Mauseth of St. Louis Park; four grandchildren, Hannah, Katie, Ryan, and Hayden who will miss eating sweet treats with their grandpa; two sisters, LaRae (and Denny) Gormley and Ava (and Orv) Haberman.
