David William Mueller ('Millie' to many who loved him) died from cancer and its many complications on Sunday morning, June 4, 2023. And man, do we miss him.
Dave was happiest on a lawnmower with his headphones. He was happiest watching his grandchildren shoot hoops. He was happiest hitting the road to see the world beyond Minnesota. He was happiest worshipping with his neighbors. He was happiest hanging out with his family, always listening more than talking. Kind, curious, and a little competitive, he loved games and dogs and being outside and eating dessert. And for more than 20 years, with a few breaks in between, he battled three different cancer diagnoses in order to stay here longer for the people he loved most. We couldn't love him more and we feel grateful to those who loved him along with us. And we are thankful for his peace, that he may finally rest.
Born on April 18, 1950 to Paul and Marion Mueller (Springfield, MN), and brother to Barb (Bill) Hilburn, Tom (Laura) Mueller, Donna Mork, and Mike Mueller, he married Carol (Krause) in September 1975 but started dating her in 1973 so they definitely get credit for a full 50 years of partnership. He is father to Sara Mueller (Joel Silbaugh) and Andrew Mueller (Jen Mueller) and grandfather to Harper (11), Hudson (9) and Henry (7) Mueller. Dave went to Mankato High School, attended South Central Technical College and graduated from Mankato State University, and worked at Brown Printing Company for 33 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, aunts, and uncles.
Visitation is at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna on Sunday, June 11 from 2-5pm. The funeral is at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Meriden on Monday, June 12 at 11am with visitation one-hour prior.
Like his mother, he loves roses in every color. And memorials in his name can be made to the American Cancer Society and to St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Meriden.
We hope that in his memory you might find a moment to grab some sunshine, turn the music up, and enjoy a scoop of ice cream with your favorite people. Make that two scoops.
