David Eugene Quam, 71, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Homestead Hospice House. He was born on February 18, 1949, in Austin, MN, the son of Lester and Marlus (Freitag) Quam. Two marriages early in life blessed him with five children, Sarah, Becky, Kathy, Lisa and Dwayne. On September 17, 2011 he married Julie Ann Zabel at Senior Place in Owatonna. David enjoyed NASCAR, stockcar races, demo derbies and attending all the fairs colleting pens and pencils. He worked at Mustang, OMC, the Canning Company, Jennie-O Turkey Store, Wagner's Lunch and Reggie's Brewhouse. He is survived by his wife, Julie of Owatonna; children, Sarah Quam of Brooklyn Park, Becky (Craig) Johnson of Owatonna, Kathy Quam of Owatonna and Lisa Madson (fiancé, Ted Millhouse) of Owatonna; 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brothers, Larry Quam of Austin and Steve Quam of Detroit Lakes and special canine friend, Buddy. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Dwayne and sisters-in-law, Judy and JoAnn Quam. A memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 21, 2020, at Elevation North, 2002 Austin Road in Owatonna with visitation one hour prior and will be officiated by Pastor Doug Jones.
