Obituary

David Eugene Rysavy, 64, of Owatonna, died Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Owatonna Hospital. He was born March 12, 1945 in Owatonna the son of Jerry and Roselyn (Simon) Rysavy, Sr. David attended Riverpoint Elementary School, St. Isidore's Catholic School and Graduated from Marian High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1966-1968. During his service he was awarded the Bronze Star with Combat 'V' and the Purple Heart. David married Arlys Schlossin Sept. 22, 1973 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. David worked for OMC for many years prior to working at Machine Tool and Supply in Eagan. He started CD Electronics in Owatonna nearly twenty years ago. David was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He enjoyed deer hunting and loved snowmobiling. He raced in several snowmobile races including the Winnipeg 500. He loved to work on old Hit Miss engines and Blacksmithing including making horseshoes for the Steele Co. Historical Society and the Litomysl Festival. David enjoyed going to the casino and spending time at his cabin in the woods. David also enjoyed participating in rendezvous''. More than anything, David loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Arlys Rysavy of Owatonna; son, Ty (and Jamie Modene) Rysavy of Clarks Grove; daughter, Shannon (and Dan) Rhoades of Ellendale; grandchildren, Makenzi, Aiden, Sydney; parents, Jerry and Roselyn Rysavy, Sr. of Owatonna; brothers, Jerry (and Maryann) Rysavy, Jr. of Owatonna, Thomas (and Ana) Rysavy of Random Lake, WI, Kenneth Rysavy of Laurens, SC, Joseph (and Cheryl) Rysavy of Owatonna, Michael (and Gail) Rysavy of Geneva; sister, Rita (and Gary) Wandrey of Owatonna and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday from 4pm to 8pm and at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Tuesday from 10am to 11am. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at 11:00am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Litomysl. Interment will be in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Litomysl.
