Dawn Christine Hanna, 25, of Santa Monica, formerly of Owatonna, died Friday, June 19, 2009 due to a motor vehicle accident. She was born July 14, 1983 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania the daughter of David and Donna (Weber) Hanna. Dawn graduated from Owatonna High School with the Class of 2001. She attended and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Sports Management. During her college years Dawn worked with SFX Golf, the Owatonna Country Club and the Minnesota Timberwolves. Following her college graduation she moved to Santa Monica, CA in January of 2006. She worked for Wasserman Media Group where she became the Manager of Sales Development. Dawn was recently certified to teach Spin classes and was really excited about teaching. She enjoyed and played several different sports. Dawn was a runner, enjoyed hiking and exploring the adventures of life with friends. She was a very generous person and had a spirit that would fill the room. She is survived by her parents, David and Donna Hanna of Owatonna; brother, Adam (and Dot) Hanna of Buffalo; paternal grandmother, Marianne Hanna of Minneapolis; maternal grandmother, Kira Weber of Osage, IA and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Dawn was preceded in death by paternal and maternal grandfathers. Visitation will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Santa Monica, CA on Wednesday from 5-8pm. Visitation in Owatonna will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8pm and at Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday from 9-10am. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 10:00am at Trinity Lutheran Church with The Reverend John Lestock officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna. Give generously, in memory of Dawn, to the charity of your choice, as she would have done.
