Dean David Burow, age 48, of Wanamingo, died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at his home. Dean was born on February 18, 1961 in Faribault, Minnesota the son of David and Patricia (Nelson) Burow. Dean was raised on his grandpa''s family farm south of Kenyon. He was baptized at St Johns Church in Wheeling Township and confirmed at First Lutheran Church of Kenyon. He attended Kenyon schools from elementary through high school. Dean played football and basketball through junior and senior high, graduating in 1979. Dean was married to Julie Fogelson and had a son Mitchel. They later divorced. In September 1995, Dean married Peggy Peterson and made their home in the Kenyon/Wanamingo area. The couple has four children, Morgan, Clay, Hunter and Sydney. Dean worked at the Goodhue Canning Company, drove school bus, farmed, was a cement finisher for the union, Weis Construction of Rochester and DLO in Hastings. Dean kept busy doing miscellaneous side cement, construction and repair jobs, including building a shower/bath house for the Peterson Family Reunion gathering. Dean was a member of the Kenyon Volunteer Fire Department for 17 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his wife, children, family and friends. Dean thoroughly enjoyed, watching, cheering and coaching his children in all their sports activities. He is survived by his wife Peggy Burow of Wanamingo: sons, Mitchel of Eau Claire WI, Clay and Hunter at home; daughters, Morgan and Sydney, at home; father, David Burow of Kenyon; brother, Jeff (and Holly) Burow of Kenyon; sister, Tammie Behrens of Pine Island; grandmother, Ruth Nelson of Faribault; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, family and friends. Dean was preceded in death by his mother Patricia Burow and his uncle Thomas Nelson. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Memorial services will be held Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Dale Lutheran Church, Kenyon with The Reverend Rell Spickerman officiating.
