Dean C. Maher, 64, of Owatonna, died Saturday, September 1, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 5, 1948 in Faribault, Minnesota the son of John and Elizabeth (Peterson) Maher. Dean attended school in Faribault, and then entered the United States Navy and served on The USS Davis in Vietnam from 1968-69. He married Micki Ingram July 17, 1968. The couple later divorced. Dean worked at Brown Printing in Waseca, Courtesy Motors, and Owatonna Ford. His dream came true in 2002 when Dean got the opportunity to have his own car dealership, owning Car Time Auto Center in Owatonna. After being together for 25 years, Dean married Marilyn (Smith) Warner on May 24, 2012. He enjoyed going to watch his grandchildren''s sporting events, going to the cabin, the Minnesota Vikings and selling cars. He is survived by his wife Marilyn Maher of Owatonna, son Jason (and Lanning) Maher of Owatonna, daughter Deena (and P.J.) Newhouse of Owatonna, grandchildren Emma and Lincoln Maher and Jackson and Maggie Newhouse. Step children Doug Warner of Owatonna, Tim (and Shonda) Warner of Kenyon, and Marcella (and Todd Butts) of Trego, MT, eight step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. Dean is also survived by his siblings Mary (and Nels) Olsen of Mankato, Nancy (and Butch) Friedman of Chicago, IL, Sandy Ackman of Ogilvie, MN, Christine Heil of Kenyon, and Scott (and Greg Neymeyer) Heil of Northfield. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday September 5, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and at Our Savior's Lutheran Church on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
