Debbie Lynn Gilbertson, 55, of Owatonna, died Monday, October 25, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital. Debbie was born July 3, 1955 in Saginaw, Michigan the daughter of Mert and Avice (Bowden) Heckman. Debbie graduated from Freeland, MI High School. She then moved to Homestead, Florida, Rochester and later Owatonna where she worked as a waitress. She also worked for Gopher Sport and for Rust Consulting in Faribault. She married Alvin Gilbertson on February 23, 1985. Debbie enjoyed many things. She especially enjoyed home and garden parties, collecting Elvis memorabilia, collecting cups and saucers and camping with Alvin. She is survived by her husband Alvin Gilbertson of Owatonna; two daughters, Heather Gilbertson (and Kyl Nielsen) of Owatonna; Christy Probst (and Dan Nelson) of Owatonna; five step daughters, Sandy Gilbertson of Owatonna; Diane (and Ruben) Padilla of Owatonna; Tammy Gilbertson of Byron; Lori Schultz of Owatonna; Cindy (and Tom) Olson of Maple Grove; her mother, Avice Heckman of Freeland; a sister, Dee (and David) Puckett of Midland, MI; her best friend, Marie Hauser of Michigan; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Mert, and her grandparents. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday, October 28, 2010 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
