Debra K. Eaton, 58, of Owatonna, died Monday, May 12, 2014 at the Homestead Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born October 11, 1955 in Owatonna the daughter of Stanley and Dorothy (Jante) Eaton. Debra graduated from Owatonna High School with the class of 1975, and then attended vocational school in Faribault. Deb started working for Brown Printing in Waseca in 1976 and was a faithful employee until her retirement due to health issues in 2009. Deb was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. In her free time she enjoyed, going to Diamond Jo Casino with friends, and watching her great nieces. Deb organized the Stan and Dorothy Eaton horseshoe tournament in honor of her parents. Deb was also a big fan of Star Trek (Trekkie).
She is survived by two brothers Michael (and Linda) Eaton of Owatonna, and Bruce Eaton of San Diego, CA, two nephews Scott Eaton, and Joel ( and Lynn) Eaton, and one niece Sarah Eaton. She is also survived by six great nieces Bailey, Skyler, Jayger, Kayla, Karmen, and Kylee, and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday May 16, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Saturday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday May 17, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Redeemer Lutheran Church with The Reverend Kirk Griebel officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.
