Delores L. Fisher, 92, of Mankato, died Sunday, October 11, 2009 at Cedarview Care Center. She was born July 22, 1917 in Emporia, Kansas the daughter of Arthur and Hilda (Auster) Pierson. Delores graduated from high school in Emporia, KS and then attended Teachers College. She lived in Abbeville. LA, Emporia, KS, and then moved to Mankato in 1952. While living in Mankato Delores worked at Mankato Commercial College and later was secretary to the President of Bethany Lutheran College until her retirement at age 80. Delores was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran in Mankato. She enjoyed playing bridge, cribbage, bowling, and working crosswords, and cryptograms. She is survived by her children, Carol Parsons of Denver, CO; Kathy (and Tom Peterson) Parsons of Owatonna; Elton Parsons of Andover, KS; and Steven Parsons of Cudahy, WI; eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Jay (and Ellen) Pierson of Battle Creek, MI, and Norbert (and Marian) Pierson of Columbia, MO; one sister, Lois (and Frank) McNelly of Wichita, KS. Her parents, one brother Robert, and one sister Carol preceded her in death. Funeral service will be held Saturday October 17, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bixby with Reverend Ron Barth officiating. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery. Michaelson Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Memorials are preferred to the donor''s choice.
