Delores Ann Schuette, 92, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Benedictine Living Community.
She was born October 24, 1931 in rural Rice County to Vincent and Agnes (Dedina) O'Malley. Delores grew up in Faribault and graduated from Faribault High School in 1950. After school she work at Schmaus Fashion in Faribault as a seamstress. On June 2, 1952 she was united in marriage to Harold Schuette, and the couple were blessed with 10 children. Harold and Delores were married for 48 years until Harold's passing in 2000. Delores worked at Westside Board and Lodge for 30 years before retiring in 2001.
Delores enjoyed hardanger embroidery, gardening, sewing, playing the accordion, dancing at Jewett Point, the Monterrey, and going on casino trips with Harold. She also cared for her chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys, and the dairy calves on the farm. Delores was a member of the AMPI, Worthwhile Extension Club, 4-H Leader for over 25 years for the Central Citizen Club, president of the Mothers Club Crane Creek School.
She is survived by her children, Darryl (and Stella) Schuette of Owatonna, Bob (and Sandy) Schuette of Blooming Prairie, Bruce (and Mary) Schuette of Owatonna, Gail (and Rodney) Anderson of Owatonna, Allen Schuette of Owatonna, Keith Schuette of Owatonna, Dean (and Terri) Schuette of Claremont, Carl (and Julie) Schuette of Owatonna, Curt Schuette of San Antonio, TX, Glen Schuette of Minneapolis; and many very special grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Noreen Perkins of Faribault; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Schuette; parents Vincent and Agnes O'Malley; brother, Arlos O'Malley; sister, Bernice Jeno.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 5-7PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 1PM with a visitation starting one hour prior to the service at Michaelson Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to the St. Croix Hospice or donor's choice.
