Delores D. Youngquist, 83, of Kenyon, died Monday, February 2, 2015 at the Kenyon Sunset Home.
Delores was born July 6, 1931 in Virginia, Minnesota the daughter of John and Gladys (Lafferty) Eilola. She moved with her family to Minneapolis at the age of 10. She met her husband, Richard, while attending vocational trade school. They were married on November 11, 1950. They resided in the Minneapolis and New Hope area until 2006 when they moved to Kenyon. Delores worked various jobs; Fanny Farmer, Gold Bond Stamps, nursing aide and provided childcare for 15 years.
She was active at Elim Lutheran Church in Robbinsdale and Christ Memorial Lutheran Church in Wayzata. Delores served as superintendent of Sunday school, taught Sunday school, and active member of Ladies Aid. She enjoyed crafts, cross stitch, crochet and knitting. Delores loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Youngquist of Kenyon; five children, Robyn Orman of Big Lake, Cheryl Kauffmann (and Ivan Anderson) of Echo, Linnea (and Tom) Sahl of Kenyon, Rick (and Theresa) Youngquist of Longmont, CO, and Scott (and Freida Rose) Youngquist of Bemidji; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; brothers, James (and Shirley) Eilola of Eagan, and Chuck (and Caryol) Eilola of Coon Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Lillian and Marguerite, and great grandson, Mason.
Visitation will be at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kenyon on Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 2:00 PM at First Evangelical Lutheran Church with The Reverend Luther Mathsen officiating. Interment will be in the Kenyon Cemetery. Michaelson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
