Dennis Paul Hess, 77, of Owatonna, died Friday, November 5, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. He was born July 18, 1944 in New Ulm, Minnesota the son of Kenneth and Sarah (White) Hess. He graduated from Fairfax High School and then entered the United States Airforce. Dennis married Faye Steffen and had three children; Darcie, Dana, and Danny. The couple later divorced. He then married JoAnn (Wood) McKinstry and they had three sons; Eric, Dean and Steven. Dennis was a handyman doing carpentry, electrical, plumbing and ground work and flipped a number of houses using these skills. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing in his younger years, and bowling. He grew up in the Fairfax Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Hess; children, Darcie, Dana, Nina, Eric, Dean and Steven; siblings, Barbara, Gary, Linda and Jill; 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Dana and siblings, Lori and Ronnie. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday, November 12, 2021, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM.
