Dennis W. Wimer Jr., 32, of Owatonna, Minnesota died Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Homestead Hospice House. Dennis was born March 28, 1985 in Lake City, Minnesota the son of Dennis Wimer Sr. and Kathleen (Gilday) Wimer. He attended Owatonna High School. Dennis married Kayla Hansen on August 14, 2010 in Claremont, Minnesota. Dennis was a self employed entrepreneur in the Owatonna area working as a painter, landscaper, and provided tree removal and snow removal services. Dennis enjoyed football, fishing, snowmobiling, spending time with family and teaching the children. He always helped others and had a lending hand. He is survived by his wife, Kayla Wimer of Owatonna; children, Elijah Wimer (12) of Owatonna, Hunter Johnson (11) of Ellendale, MN, Dennis Dent (10) of Cleveland, MN, Randy Wimer (10), Hailey Goodsell (8), and Sky Wimer (7) all of Owatonna; siblings, Nikki (and Jay) Imhoff of Omaha, NE and Jena Wimer of Faribault; nieces and nephews, Ian Imhoff, Ryan Imhoff, Jace Wimer, Doug and Kieriana Schell; aunts and uncles, Rich Detlefsen of Adel, IA, Lloyd and Viki Wimer of Owatonna, Jerry and Cindi Wimer of Henning, MN, Connie and Scott Meislahn of Waldorf, MN, Bonnie Gilday Kennedy of Black Mountain, NC, and Lenny Wille of San Pedro, CA; eight cousins; and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; mother, Kathleen Wimer; aunt, Phyllis Detlefsen. A Celebration of Dennis's life will be held Friday, August 11, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home. A gathering for family and friends will be held 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM following the service at the funeral home.
