Dewain Allen Audiss, 55, of Ainsworth, Iowa died Saturday, January 27, 2024 at University of Iowa Hospital.

He was born August 4, 1968 in Chamberlain, South Dakota the son of Mick and Betty (Schoenfelder) Audiss. Growing up, he lived in various places in South Dakota and Wyoming before moving to Owatonna his junior year of high school. He graduated from Owatonna Christian School in 1987 and attend Northland Baptist Bible College in Dunbar, Wisconsin. Following his schooling, he moved to Wyoming and later returned to Owatonna and worked at Viracon. In 2007 he moved to Ainsworth, Iowa where he currently resided.

Dewain enjoyed hiking (his goal was to hike the Appalachian Trail), taking photos of nature, and volunteering at the Star Trek Museum in Riverside, Iowa. He also enjoyed working with the Boy Scouts while living in Owatonna.

He is survived by his parents, Mick and Betty Audiss of Owatonna; siblings, Cindy (Larry) Schultz of Owatonna, Darrell (Molly) Audiss of Valparaiso, IN, Liz (Chris) Long of Owatonna and Dan (Alyssa) Audiss of Washington, IA; 15 nieces and nephews; 5 great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brother, Doug Audiss and grandparents, Urban and Lois Schoenfelder and Darrell and Ina Audiss.

A funeral service will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Redemption Church in Owatonna with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Christian Kohs will officiate. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna.
