Diane H. Ness, 61, of Owatonna, died Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Homestead Hospice House. She was born April 11, 1953 in Owatonna, Minnesota the daughter of Floyd and Helen (Wirowek) Ness. Diane graduated from OHS with the class of 1971, and attended college at Wartburg in Waverly, IA. She was a member of the Nomenclature singing group from 1971-1973. Diane was united in marriage to David Woker on September 25, 1976, and the couple later divorced. She worked for Jostens and later started working for Federated Insurance Company in 1986 and later retired due to health. She was the treasurer for the Northstar Lily Society, and was the 2003 "Steele County Daffodil Days Person of Hope" by the local American Cancer Society. She was also involved with Relay for Life of Steele County. She is survived by her children Mark Woker of Minneapolis, Eric Woker of Owatonna, and Stephanie Woker of Owatonna. She is also survived by her siblings, Kathaleen (Arthur) Hasert of Kenyon, Marilyn Nelson of Stillwater, Pooka (and Randy Borchers) Ness of Viola, WI, Patricia (and Richard Vandermade) Ness of Elk River, Nancy (and Michael Pearson) Ness of Owatonna, and Ron Ness of Owatonna, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Roger. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday September 24, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and at The Associated Church on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Thursday September 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM at The Associated Church with Reverend Katherine Gibson-Christensen officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Juvenile Diabetes Research, or the Susan G. Komen fund.
