Donald Mandt Anderson, 88, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna, Minnesota.
Donald was born April 16, 1928 in Grand Forks, North Dakota the only child of Frank and Ruby (Mandt) Anderson. After graduating from high school he enlisted into the United States Army Air Force. He was honorably discharged on June 7, 1948 and continued his service in the Reserves. He then attended college on his GI Bill at the University of North Dakota and earned his Law Degree.
Donald was united in marriage to Gloria Mankie and in their union had three sons. They moved to Owatonna in 1954 where Donald worked as a Claims Adjuster at Federated Insurance for over 30 years. They later divorced.
Donald enjoyed his hobby farm in Bixby where he would hunt and fish. He also loved woodworking and computer researching. While living at Park Place he was always helping the residents with searching for information on the internet.
Donald is survived by his three sons, Gary (and Diane) Anderson of Raleigh, North Carolina, Mark (and Vickie) Anderson of Apache Junction, Arizona, and Paul (and Jean) Anderson of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Donald will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery with full military honors. Michaelson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
