Donald J. Bedney, 81, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Sterling House in Owatonna. He was born November 17, 1927 in, Steele County the son of Walter and Claudia (Steele) Bedney. Don attended country school, and then started farming with his father. He entered the United States Navy in 1944 and was later honorably discharged. He married Gladys Dahl September 3, 1988 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Don was a member of First Baptist Church, in Owatonna, MM Farmers Union enjoyed going to parades, threshing shows, horses, going to auctions, fairs, playing cards, and collecting toy tractors. He is survived by his wife Gladys, stepchildren Loren (LaDonna) Hansen of Hewitt, Judith Fonner of Owatonna, Linda (David Reistad) Zvorak of Ellendale, Sandy (Michael) Seykora of Owatonna, Jon (Linda Reichart) Hansen of Edwardsville, ILL, Donna (Bob) Ayers of Owatonna, Jim (Stacy) Hansen of Owatonna. Sixteen step grandchildren, nineteen step great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews also survive Don. He was preceded in death by parents, first wife Ella, two sisters Delores, and Carolyn, and one brother Robert. Visitation will be Thursday March 5 from 5-7 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Funeral service will be 11Am Friday March 6 at The Associated Church with Reverend Ronald D. Wilson officiating. Interment will be at Owatonna Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
