Donald "Don" A. Hofius, 89, of Owatonna, died May 17, 2020, at the Owatonna Hospital. He was born February 18, 1931, in Owatonna, the son of Alan and Helen (Reiter) Hofius. Don graduated from Owatonna High School in 1949. On March 6, 1951, he entered into the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. On March 5, 1954, he was honorably discharged. On October 9, 1955, he married Lois J. Thomas at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna. They made their home in Owatonna and had two children. Don worked as a jewelry polisher at Jostens for 42 years and Black Forest where he retired. He enjoyed bowling and gardening. Don especially loved his time with family and going to the cabin up north. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the VFW Post 3723 and the American Legion Post 77. He is survived by his son, Michael Hofius of Owatonna and grandson, Brad Hofius of Mankato. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Hofius and daughter, Dawn Dewey. A private family graveside service will be held at St. John Cemetery in Owatonna. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
