Donald E. Wilker, 94, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Park Place in Owatonna. He was born May 19, 1918 in Berlin Township, Steele County, Minnesota the son of Henry and Lena (Wanberg) Wilker. He attended country school District #86 near Ellendale. He married Daisy Cress on September 11, 1942 at the United Methodist Church Parsonage in Ellendale. The couple farmed for several years before moving to Hope in 1957. Donald worked as head custodian at Lincoln School for the Owatonna Public School from November of 1957 to June of 1985. In April of 2001, he moved to Park Place in Owatonna. Donald was a member of the Owatonna Eagles 1791, since 1970, the Waseca Eagles 3735, and the Owatonna Elks 1395. He was also a member of the United Methodist Church in Ellendale. Donald enjoyed working bingo at the Eagles Club. He started working bingo in the fall of 1972. Donald enjoyed taking his family out to eat several times a year. He also enjoyed having his grandchildren, great grandchildren and family come to visit him. Donald is survived by two sons, Dale (and Carol) Wilker of Hope, and Dean Wilker of Quail Valley, CA; daughter-in-law, Sandra Wilker of Byron; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Daisy, son, Dennis, six sisters, and three brothers. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday, July 15, 2012 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM . Funeral services will be held Monday, July 16, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend Lisa Dodd officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna.
